A Beautiful River of Uttar Pradesh Whose Stones Were Liked Even by Queen Victoria

Uttar Pradesh is a famous tourist state in India. Every year, millions of tourists and devotees come here to travel and visit temples. We have talked about the tourist places of Uttar Pradesh and will continue to do so in the future, but today I want to talk about a beautiful river of this state.

We know that our Earth is full of treasures. There are many beautiful things on the mountains, inside the river, which are like treasures. We have heard about the different plants that grow on the mountains, in the same way, we know about the pearls found in the sea. Today I want to talk about a river whose stones are considered precious. These stones are said to be more valuable than diamonds and pearls. When people visiting Uttar Pradesh go to many religious places like Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya, Agra, Chitrakoot, they must also visit this beautiful river. The name of this river is the Ken River. The Ken is the major river of Bundelkhand in central India. It passes through two states, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The length of this river is 427 km. This river is also known as a tributary of the Yamuna. The stones found inside this river are called Shajar stones. They are not ordinary stones found in other rivers. The stones found here naturally have beautiful designs carved on them, which is like a natural wonder. It is said that no one can reach the beauty of nature. The carving of these stones is also like that. Shajar is famous not only in India but all over the world.

In modern times, Shajar stones are widely used. People make jewelry and home decor items from them. The stone has natural designs of different colors, which are so pleasing to the eye. That is why it is very valuable to humans, as it is like a priceless treasure from nature. In Arabia, it is known as Aqeeq, and here it is also called crystal. These stones found in the Ken River were discovered 400 years ago. At that time, people understood the value of the stone. British Empress Victoria also took these stones with her.

According to ancient beliefs, the old name of the Ken River was Karnavati River. With time, its name changed and it became known as Kinia from Karnavati. After that, it was also known as Kanya and now it is known as the Ken River. Local people believe that the natural carvings seen on the stones are caused by the moonlight at night. The moonlight falls on these stones and causes the carvings, but scientists believe that the carvings seen on these stones are a sign of the fungal growth on them.

There are many places to visit around here as well. Of course, the beauty of the Ken River itself is such that anyone who comes here will definitely like this place. Apart from that, if you want to go for a walk around, from the main Ken Ghat, you can visit the Ken Ghariyal Sanctuary, Gangu Dam, Panna National Park, Raneh Falls, Khajuraho, Kalinjar Fort, Mahoba, Jhansi, etc. These places are famous. Of course, due to the increasing population in the country, pollution is increasing in this beautiful river and the water is also drying up in many places. It is said that if this continues, the future of the river is in danger. We will talk in detail about the surrounding tourist areas of Ken next time.
